Claire and Karen, founders of Rishi Yoga, are bringing yoga back to outdoor DIVAS in Boulder starting April 25th.
Claire + Karen
Claire is a mover. She started dancing at the age of three and immediately loved it. She continued on as a serious dancer attending Denver School of the Arts as a dance major in high school and University of Utah as a dance major in college. Unfortunately, various injuries caused Claire to stop dancing. However, she discovered yoga. It was a way for her to continue moving without hurting herself any further. Yoga ultimately became Claire’s passion. Claire became a RYT 200 hour certified teacher in November 2016 from Yoga Pod Boulder. She is so excited to share her love of yoga with the community in such a fun and accessible way. It is important to Claire that yoga is something for everyone. She believes Rishi Yoga makes it more approachable and enjoyable for the community.
Karen grew up in Western Colorado spending her summers on ambling hikes along mountain streams and discovering swimming holes in sandstone canyons. Her winters were spent on the slopes. In Boulder, Karen has been continually drawn to yoga as a way to find contentment, to deeply connect movement with breath, mind with body, and feeling with physicality. It has helped her understand and cherish her connection to the natural world. It has guided her through many of life’s transitions, including recovering from injury. As a teacher, she is passionate about providing spaces for others to find connection and expression within themselves. She earned her RYT 200 hour certification in November 2016 at the Yoga Pod in Boulder and is excited to bring yoga out of the studio and into unconventional spaces with Rishi Yoga. Perhaps most of all, Karen loves living in comfortable, stretchy, practice clothes!
